Marion
Feather Artist
Marion is a feather artist. She graduated with a Master’s degree in architecture from ENSA Strasbourg in 2010, and worked for a time as a project manager.
At the age of 30, she began an apprenticeship at Lemarié, the refernce for this rare profession. A necessary step towards excellence. Lemarié, which works mainly for haute couture, is one of the resident houses at 19M, a creative center in Paris. Lemarié specializes in the art of feathers, Fleur, Plissé, Couture and Ennoblissement textile.
A few years later, Marion is Winner of the Prix Jeune Création Métiers d’Art 2021 from Ateliers d’Art de France, leaves Lemarié and sets up her own business in Dole, Jura, to concentrate on her own creations.
Vagabonding between different artistic approaches and craft practices, Marion explores the material of the quill through encounters and collaborations on a variety of projects, from textile creation and finishing, to landscape and architectural installations, set design and costume.
Plum-making is a rare craft whose origins go back to the Amerindians. Marion is one of the last forty feather workers in France. Her work is directly inspired by the mineral, animal and plant worlds. Exclusively for RAYONE, she has extended her know-how to the world of hats. Marion shares RAYONE’s philosophy of sublimating rather than buying a garment anew, while promoting French arts and crafts.
